Just a mist.

So yesterday I woke up and had a little time to myself and decided to read some of the book called crazy love. Anyways I was reading chapter 2 and had to just sit back and absorb everything I just read.
Chatpter two in a summary basically talks about how we act as if everything should be about us. That we treat this life like we're the main charecter & if things don't go our way or work out the way we want then we act as if God is to blame beause that's not the way our script should go. Which is completly crazy! From start to finish God is the main charecter. He created everything, so how is it possible tht we live as though it is all about us?
Our life on this world is a brief second. Years from now no one will remember us, what we drove, what we wore, or who our friends were. And like the book says I want my second of a life to matter. I want it too be all about making much of God. Corinthians 10:31 says "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." That is what are second of a life should be about.
Basically we need to get over ourselves.. the point of our life is to point to him.
And the chapter goes on, but after reading all this I just couldn't help to sit back & completley agree. To make everything even more real, later that day I was driving into to work, where I went through a green light & got T-boned by a car running a red light which hit my driver side where I was sitting. Luckily I only sprained my neck & no one was seriously injured. But it is so real.. That our lives are brief, I could live to be 70 or live 2 more minutes. I could of easily gotten hurt or the other driver could of been going faster. We are just a little mist in life, here one second, gone the next. Beuchner says "We tend to live our lives as though our lives would go on forever."
Read Crazy love, it will be one of the best books you've ever read.
